The hourly rate is also influenced by the schedule, number of children and other expectations. Do nannies receive benefits?
In addition to competitive wages, most professional nannies receive benefits including paid vacation, paid holidays and personal days. As in other professional positions, an annual review is suggested. At this time, pay may be increased, and additional benefits can be considered as retention strategies.
Will the nanny provide transportation for my children?
Yes, most nannies are willing to drive children to and from school, activities, and other appointments. This should be agreed to before employment begins. Compensation for gas should be reimbursed at the current IRS Mileage Rate. DMV checks are done on all nannies to ensure that they have a safe driving record.
Will the nanny travel with our family?
Many nannies are willing to travel. This time would be considered working time and would be compensated at agreed upon rates, in addition to covering their travel expenses.
